George N. Liberis, M.D, Sc.D, F.A.C.S.

Dr.Liberis is a  general surgeon, Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, holding licenses to practice medicine and surgery in the states of New York, New Jersey and Maryland since 1986.

Dr.Liberis has also been a Board Certified surgeon in Greece.

He received his MD degree graduating Cum Laude in 1977 from the University of Athens Greece and his Sc.D (Doctor of Science) from the same University graduating Summa Cum  Laude.

Post-graduate training in the USA included Chief Residency in General Surgery at Westchester County Medical Center, NY Medical College and a Fellowship in Critical Care from the same institution. 

Additional training in General Surgery included  residencies at Harlem Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University of Physicians and Surgeons and at Stony Brook University Hospital.
 
For the past ten years Dr.Liberis has been in private practice, specializing in the surgery of the alimentary tract, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy,oncologic and breast surgery, hernia surgery, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands and surgery for varicose veins.

  • NYACK  hospital, Nyack, NY 

  • Good Samaritan hospital,  Suffern NY.

Prior to coming to the USA Dr.Liberis served as an Attending surgeon at the Kidney Transplant  Center of Laikon General Hospital and Attending  surgeon at the  KAT Trauma  Center (1000 beds) the largest trauma center in the Balkan Region.
